Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) Launch Captured LIVE on Video!

See the Webcast!The VIPS Program and website was officially launched at a ceremony in Alexandria, Virginia, on May 30, 2002 by Attorney General John Ashcroft and IACP President Bill Berger. Assistant Attorney General Deborah Daniels, USA Freedom Corps Director John Bridgeland, and Chief Samarra of the Alexandria Police Department spoke; President Berger, Chief of the North Miami Beach, Florida, Police Department unveiled the website and described its purpose.

Over 250 local law enforcement officers and police volunteers gathered at the Lee Center in Alexandria to help launch this new program. Volunteers from various law enforcement agencies were presented with a certificate of thanks from the IACP in recognition of their contribution.

 Finally, you need to have enough bandwidth to view the video. We have provided three bit rates (speeds) in order to reach the broadest audience usage (34k), while allowing those with higher connection speeds the ability to take advantage of the high bandwidth quality (80k and 150k).
