Program Description

The Maricopa County Sheriff's office is in need of volunteer chaplains of all faiths and denominations. Chaplain volunteers are an important part of the Sheriff's Office and are there to meet the needs of our employees and community members. Chaplains respond to calls from employees and their families as well as respond to calls within the community, such as, child drownings, natural and man-made disasters, suicides and natural deaths. The requirements of this program are minimal. All volunteer chaplains are required to be on call for one to three 24-hour periods per month. Also required are written monthly reports and attendance of our quarterly chaplain meeting.
