Because of the national VIPS Program, the Fairfax County Police Department is able to broaden our base of potential volunteers not only within Northern Virginia but throughout the country by use of the VIPS Website.

Program Description

Provo Mobile Watch Crime Crushers

Mobile Watch is an aggressive crime prevention program where participants are, as the name suggests, mobile. They move around in their neighborhood, armed with cell phones, binoculars, flashlights, scanners, and magnetic placards, watching for suspicious activity. Typically, Mobile Watch patrols take place on Friday and Saturday evenings in 4-hour shifts, although speed checks and special patrols can take place at any time on any day.
