Program Description

The VIP program has been formulated to provide the Community Oriented Policing Bureau with clerical aid and community relation's assistance at the bureau's satellite offices. By providing this assistance, the daily operational hours of each station is extended and additional service is provided.

The objective and responsibilities of the volunteer positions are to assist personnel with the entry of police reports into the department's computer system, answer calls and provide appropriate information or forward information/ inquiry to appropriate unit for follow-up, provide information/directions for walk-in traffic, distribute information pertaining to police department services and take messages for police department personnel.
