Because of the national VIPS Program, the Fairfax County Police Department is able to broaden our base of potential volunteers not only within Northern Virginia but throughout the country by use of the VIPS Website.

Program Description

We are just starting up a volunteer program which collaborates County Emergency Management and the Iron County Sheriff's department. Will update and start Website and training in May09. Hope to have a variety of positions for volunteers to work in from county park patrols to public events to working administrative duties and even the no-kill animal shelter. Am working with the Sheriff to develop an orientation curriculum and handbook, uniforms and duty descriptions.
