Program Description
The Park City Police "Park Host" program is a citizen patrol program in our city park. The program was designed to create a friendlier atmosphere in our park, a response to an increase in gang activity and racial tensions. Our volunteers wear "park host" golf shirts, sweat shirts and caps. The program has been a huge success and the park is once again a fun place to be.
Park City's Diversity Outreach Program is primarily focused on assisting our Spanish speaking community, although we are available to anyone who needs our assistance. We provide translation and follow up to assist both victims of crime and the families of individuals to
have been arrested. We coordinate efforts with the police to assist the community in understanding the laws and local ordinances. We provide information regarding the laws in English and Spanish. We work with the courts to assist individuals in setting court date, complying with court ordered service and fines. We assist victims of domestic violence and work with our Victim Advocate. We are also proud of our Spanish neighborhood watch, which is the largest in the Park City area, and certainly the most active. The program is seven years old and has received awards from the
Governor of Utah, and the local Rotary Club.
